Activities done by Family Doctor Clinic (FDC)

  • 1. Out Patient Services (OPD): In lieu of very nominal fees, every patient is examined, given medicines & advised appropriately by Medical Officer on OPD basis daily. Facilities like Nebulization, ECG, Blood Sugar examination and anthropometric measurements are also available. Needy patients are referred to Primary Health Centre, Mutha or Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, Pimpri or Sassoon Hospital, Pune or District Hospital, Pune.


  • 2. Regular Specialist Visits: Once a month specialist visit were started from February 2014 based on community needs. Under this initiative, consultants give expert advice and treat patients at nominal fees.

  • 3. Health Camps: FDC arranges Diagnostic and Specialist camps time to time in collaboration with Government/Private agencies. Free-of-charge Physician & Gynaecologist camps were arranged in October 2013. Haemoglobin and ECG checkup was conducted by Primary Health Centre, Mutha in Physician camp. Blood Sugar check up camp was conducted in June 2015.

  • Monthly Treatment Camps for Construction Workers were started from January 2014 in nearby areas of Sus. The camp is conducted with prior discussion with workers and their supervisors.


  • 4. Participation in Government Health Services: FDC team participates in many national health programs in co-ordination with Primary Health Centre, Mutha. Also, various national health days are celebrated.


  • 5. Pulse Polio Program: FDC participated in the Pulse Polio Program with PHC Mutha in January & February 2014 and 2015. Booth day activity was conducted at FDC. The Medical Officer and staff nurse were trained by Primary Health Centre, Mutha.


  • 6. Monthly Immunization and ANC Checkup are conducted on every 2nd Friday & 3rd Friday of the month respectively from August 2013 as a joint activity with Subcentre Sus under Primary Health Centre, Mutha.


  • 7. Health Education Program: Medical Officer and Medical Social Worker give health talks for various community groups/school students in Sus.



Activities done by Mobile Medical Unit (MMU)

  • 2. Participation & support to government health services: MMU team participates in Pulse Polio Program & other national health programs and also celebrates various national health days like World Health Day, World AIDS Day, World Tuberculosis Day, World Breastfeeding Week, World Leprosy Day, World Oral Health Day and Women’s Day in MMU villages in co-ordination with local stakeholders like SHGs, Anganwadi workers, ASHA, ANM, Grampanchayat members, etc.


    3. Pulse Polio Program: MMU participated in the Pulse Polio Program in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area in January & February 2014 and 2015. Booth Day activity and house to house visits were conducted. Medical Officer, Staff Nurse, Medical Social Worker and Attendant were trained by PCMC.


    4. National Immunization Program: MMU team assists in the National Immunization Program and ANC checkup activity under Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area on every Monday.


  • 5. Health Education Program: Medical Officer & Medical Social Worker conducts various types of health promotion & education activities on topics like Anaemia, Nutrition, ANC Care, Reproductive Health, Child Health, Hygiene, Sanitation, etc. through health talks and innovative ideas like Nutrition Recipe Demonstration, etc.


  • 6. Health Camps: MMU arranges diagnostic and check up camps for needy and rural population from time to time in collaboration with Government/Private agencies. A Pulmonary Function Test check up camp was arranged at Andgaon village in June 2015 in collaboration with Cipla Foundation.


  • 7. Participation in Rural Awareness Program with Ministry of Labour & Employment, GOI: Medical Officer and Medical Social Worker participated and gave health talks in Rural Awareness Program arranged by the Ministry of Labor & Employment, GOI in Mulshi taluka. They also assisted program administration by linking the community based organizations to Education Officer of Central Board for Workers Education, Pune.



Other

The SCOPE team assists sister institutions of Symbiosis for participation in various health related programs. Symbiosis College of Nursing (SCON), Symbiosis School, Harali (Dist. Kolhapur), Symbiosis Kindergarten, Nashik & Symbiosis Secondary School, Nashik participated in the Pulse Polio Program in January & February 2014 and 2015 through the assistance of SCOPE.


Facilitation for research: Symbiosis sister institutions are encouraged to conduct field research in SCOPE catchment area and participate in community health education activities.
